The great ladybug release of '08

The girls have a good friend who is really into bugs and insects. Through her they have discovered how fun they can be! For this little girls birthday we bought her a bag of live ladybugs to release in her garden (1760 bugs in all!). The girls thought it was such a neat idea (and so did our plants) that we bought a bag for ourselves. What an awesome experience this was for our whole family! The little bugs were crawling and flying all over us, and our gardens!

Just in case you're wondering how you too can have this great experience with your children or for your plants (ladybugs eat aphids and other plant eating bugs), you can buy them by the bag at several garden centers. I think Calloway's carries them, but I know there are several locally owned Garden stores close to our house, and the Arboretum who sell them too. Enjoy!
