Wonderful day!

What a wonderful way to start a weekend- I got to sleep in for the first time in a couple of months! Well, after I fed Addison I got to go back to bed while Greg fed her cereal and got breakfast for the other two. I think I got about another 45 minutes of sleep, off and on between Trinity and Emory wanting to climb in bed with me:) The extra sleep was WONDERFUL!!!!! After spending a couple of hours trying to figure out what we were going to do today (we had planned on going on a trip this weekend, but never made any arrangements) Trinity and Emory finally decided they wanted to go swimming. Greg took the two of them to Nana and Pops' house to swim while I stayed here with Addison and played with her and did chores. They ended up swimming for several hours and the girls had a BLAST! They have been talking about it all night and how much fun they had with Pops! Pops, hope you got all that "masharoni" out of your hair!

After a brief "quiet time" we played for a little while before going to dinner. At dinner I made a few discoveries about my absolutely adorable family:
  • Addison is a very picky eater! She picked through the baby crackers I put on the table in front of her to get to the ones she wanted and left the ones she didn't want as much for when I wouldn't refill her pile as soon as she started asking
  • Trinity LOVES her daddy's "magic tricks"! She was absolutely amazed at all the different ways he could make a coin disappear and reappear! I wish I would have recorded her reaction to him...it was priceless! Then when he would find them behind her ear...holy cow!!!!!
  • Emory is going to be quite the social butterfly! For most of our dinner she "talked" on Addison's play phone to her Gommy. She was sitting there on the phone for several minutes before we really noticed what she was doing, then realized she sounded like she was really carrying on a conversation. We heard the "yeah", "oh really?" and giggling, amongst other little things you would hear from a girls conversation. One time she said, "oh, of course I'm going to the football game, are you?" Hello? Is she 2 1/2 or 16?!?!?! Then she started telling me about how Gommy was telling her jokes and just being silly, she would laugh and hold her head in her hands b/c she was laughing so hard! She ended up staying "on the phone" for the whole car ride home too! Wow, I hope our cell phones aren't charged by the minute when she's old enough to have one!!!!!

We are having a "slumber party" in our room tonight, we try to do that once a week, or every other week with the girls. We let them go to sleep at regular time, but they sleep in sleeping bags on our floor. They think that is just the coolest thing in the world to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's room! We think it's pretty cool because they sleep later (7 instead of 6:15) since the sun doesn't shine into our room as early or as bright as it does into theirs!

It's a Small World After All!

So today was a busy day for us girls. We spent the morning running erands all over town, just trying to push through them all as quickly as possible. We did successfully make it through them all without any major issues or objections, the girls were WONDERFUL!!! One of our last stops was a dance shop to get everything Trinity and Emory need for the start of dance. After looking at EVERY SINGLE leotard, skirt and bag in the store we finally had our purchases and were checking out. When the girl checking us out saw our address she started talking to me about where we live, as it turns out she grew up on our street and her grandmother still lives here. She knows my brother-in-laws grandmother and the only other person to have lived in our house. After visiting about all that for a few minutes we loaded back into the car and drove to the grocery store where we struck up a UNT conversation with someone there and as it turns out, he graduated from there in 1957 and was in the same fraternity as Greg! I'm sure we've seen him a hundered times, but never visited. He was so proud to meet us and to see the success of one of his brothers. What a small world we live in!
This morning Trinity and Emory decided they wanted to put on a performance for their Daddy when he got home since one of our erands was to get new clothes for dance. We spent all afternoon preparing, practicing, setting up, etc for the first ever performance of the Hinckley Dinner Theatre. They had me make a program for him, greet him at the door, serve him dinner and MC the show...they were PRECIOUS! They performed to the music of Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses. Here are a couple of pictures for you to enjoy.

Where does the time go?

I can't believe it...Addison is 7 months old today! She has grown and changed so much! It seems like these months have just flown by, but then again I can't imagine or remember our lives without her! Here are some pictures taken on the 16th of every month since she was born, she is with her best friend, "Mister" in each picture so we have a reference point for her growth:

1 month 2 months

3 months 4 months
5 months 6 months

TODAY!
The best part for me is that she really is this happy almost all the time! What a wonderful baby girl! I am so lucky and proud!!!!!
I am curious to know who everyone thinks she looks like, please comment if you have an opinion!

Our day with Nini!!!!!

What a FUN day! My sister, Nini (aka Nicci or Nicole or Aunt Nicci or...um I don't think I should post the other things I call her) came over to spend the day with us before Trinity starts back to school a week from today. We had such a great time and the girls LOVED the extra attention! Of course we had to go shopping, so we headed to Target to get school supplies. I know it doesn't sound very exciting, but don't you remember how fun it was to get all new stuff? The girls loved it, and they always love Target! Nini took us to lunch at a real restaurant and to get snow cones...thanks Nini!!!!! We quickly came back home and Trinity, Emory and Nini all crashed in the princess palace for several hours! She even got to stay for dinner with us:)

The girls had such a great time with her that Emory BALLED hysterically when she left! Seriously, she cried for almost ten minutes! They sure do love their Nini and I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual.

Thanks Nini for being such an important person in our lives! We all love you!

Growing too fast!

What a day! We started out planning a quiet and cool day at home, just us girls spending some quality time together. It is extremely rare for us to have a day without something to do outside the house, so I declared today a PJ's day! I was already dressed for the day when this declaration was made, but the girls weren't and they were thrilled for this opportunity! Emory quickly lost the enthusiasm in exchange for a twirly dress and high heels (not too surprised), but Trinity and Addison stayed in their PJ's till after dinner...when Greg got home. We had spent the day quietly reading, playing with Barbies, Polly's and Little People, and watching Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobbie movies. As usual, Greg had something up his sleeve that completely turned our evening upsidedown! After dinner we drove to the park. Keep in mind it's only like 110 heat index outside (which is why we didn't walk like usual), so I've got the bug spray and bottles of water weighing me down, and he grabs the soccer ball! We did end up having a great time at the park though and I'm glad we went! Trinity and Emory kicked the ball around with Greg for a while, then played together in the sand (they looked like sandpaper with the sand sticking to them). Addison discovered the slide and seesaw and LOVED it! I've attached a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
When we got home from the park we discovered Addison has a new talent...she's army crawling! I can't believe she's old enough to be doing this stuff! She is trying desperately to get up on her knees, but isn't quite there yet. She will occasionally drive her head down into the ground and kick with her toes to get somewhere (I don't know how she doesn't have carpet burn on her forehead), but tonight it became a true army crawl! I'm not ready for her to grow up...I'm also not ready to start baby proofing again! Guess I will spend the rest of the week figuring out how to keep the billions of Barbie and Polly Pocket pieces out of her reach!

So not only have Trinity and Emory picked up the new skill of soccer, but Addison has picked up crawling...too much for me to handle in one day!

The rest of the day...

Addison started on "baby food" about a month ago and quickly moved on to the finger foods too (the ones for babies that pretty much dissolve in their mouths since she doesn't have any teeth). She is teeny tiny (in the bottom 10% in weight for her age at 6 months), so I pretty much let her eat as much as she wants, when it's meal time. Tonight we went with the squash and applesauce for her dining pleasure. She really loves the carrots and sweet potatoes and I'm glad to let her eat them in hopes she'll eat enough to put on some weight, but she's pretty orange, so I'm trying to cut back! Anyway, she was less than pleased with her selection tonight. In the middle of feeding her squash she opted for her thumb over the food...guess that's a pretty good hint that she's done. After trying to force the applesauce down her throat I gave her a Wagon Wheel cracker, I think she was still pretty hungry because she stuffed the WHOLE thing in her mouth at once. I had to take pictures of this, she looked pretty silly and quite uncomfortable, but determined to eat it that way! She finally succeeded with no coughing or choking at all! You never know what Daddy has in store with he gets home! Tonight he decided we would put the pool in the front yard so the girls could play while we were able to enjoy a nice breeze and water all our plants. The girls had a great time playing with their My Little Ponies and Barbies in the pool! By looking at these pics you'd never guess that they both hated getting baths tonight...isn't it all playing in the water? Go figure, my little princesses not wanting to "ruin their hairdo's" that they worked on this afternoon:) The oldest two are quite the Divas, I wonder how Addison will turn out.
Have a wonderful night!

A little update on the day

Good afternoon! It's rediculously hot outside today so I decided to take the girls to the mall to run around in the air conditioning. They have become really lazy this summer (that's my fault) and I want to squish that before school starts. They weren't real happy about having to get up and moving this morning, but they ended up having a great time once we saw the play area. They had a great time playing bear in the great outdoors themed area. You can see the picture of Trinity growling at me below. They hibernated in the logs beneath her and in the tent several times, but there were so many other kids wanting to play with them that I couldn't really get any good pictures of them. Addison had a great time watching the world go by in front of her, but she so desperately wanted to be a part of it too!

Okay, I just couldn't resist posting this picture. A picture really is worth a thousand words! We are not very serious in this house (I'm afraid Trinity is getting a complex about it) and this is a great example of that. Emory loves this dress! She asks to wear it almost every day. One time Greg was teasing her and told her she couldn't wear it the next day when she woke up because he was going to be wearing it. She didn't believe him, so he had to prove it to her...

Let's get started!

It seems like I'm constantly falling behind on filling people in on what the family is up to these days, so I thought this might be an easier way for you to keep up with us! Trinity is almost 5 (only 3 1/2 weeks!), Emory is 2 1/2 and Addison will be 7 months this week! They are amazing little girls, but do keep us extremely busy! Trinity will start private kindergarten next week, then will repeat again the following year due to her age. She is very ready for a full time school! She is working really hard on reading and writing, she has almost mastered every letter and every sound! She definitelly outsmarts Greg and I on an extremely regular basis! Emory is quite the little sweetheart! She loves to hug and snuggle and always has to have on high heels (preferably ones that sparkle), jewelery, makeup and a twirly dress. Emory can't wait to start dance classes this year! Addison is one that refuses to let being the third child cause her to be ignored. She is starting to babble up a storm and will scream at you if you don't respond to her immediatly.

Greg and I are truly blessed to have such amazing little girls!!!! Here are a few pictures of them from over the summer, but the most recent have not been loaded on the computer yet...a little behind on that too!

We hope you enjoy our attempt at keeping everyone updated on our lives. Feel free to add any comments you would like, we'd love to hear from you (and to know someone is actually reading this).
