GO WILDCATS!!!!!

Last night was the first home game of the season for the Wildcats, Greg's Alma mater. Of course we had to go, as we do every year, and the girls were crazy excited! Trinity was dictating every one's outfits for the game, of course they had to be red because that's the Wildcats color. Emory chose to go with her Mean Green cheerleading outfit instead of red because she was going to cheer for the game. Trinity was naturally into the Polly Pockets that we took for them to play with, never really looked up, just played the whole time.
Then there were Emory and Addison who couldn't get enough of the game and the action! Addison sat on the bleachers screaming when everyone else screamed, patting her legs when everyone clapped, she was precious!
And now for Emory...she had the whole section waiting for her next move! I've never seen a two year old so into a football game in my life! She was yelling the whole time, repeating things she heard some of the people sitting around us say, "Go Wildcats!", "Come on guys!", "Let's go cats!", "Go Wildcats Go!". I can't tell you how proud her daddy was to have someone get into the game with him for a change! I caught her mimicing the cheerleaders on more than one occasion too. She stood up the whole game just waiting for the next opportunity to cheer the team on. One of the ladys in front of us gave Emory her Wildcats pom-pom, so she could cheer harder. She loved having it, but didn't want to use it the whole time, because then she couldn't cup her hands around her mouth to yell louder. What wonderful memories!

Kids say the silliest things...

So yesterday was quite a day for Trinity and Emory. While we were visiting Nini at church she took us to the basement to show us where all the youth rooms are and show us where Gommy played when she was little. After Nini turned off the lights to the room (it's under ground so it's DARK) and we were walking to the exit I said (in an attempt at a scary voice), "Oooh, it's so dark and spooky in here". Emory replied, kind of chuckling (like we would do at our parents as teenagers...well not me, but I'm sure you did:)), "Oh Mom, it's okay, it's not really spooky". And she's only 2!!!!!

After we got home from school I was answering one of Trinity's questions and she responded with, "Well blow me down!". I nearly fell over at that one!!!!

While we were all in the car together last night Trinity said (in a whiny voice), "Mommy, teacher said there's no kissing in kindergarten." We're still trying to get to the bottom of that one! I have heard she has a little crush on a boy in her class...I'll keep you posted!

Catching up on pictures

With Trinity and Emory both at school today I've had a few minutes to upload pictures I took over the past several days. I'd much rather do this than clean! Anyway, here are a few...

This is how you can normally expect to find Emory, on the phone!

On Sunday evening we went for a walk/ride to the park

On Monday we went to Nana and Pops' house to swim!

Addison discovered the dog's food bowl, thank goodness it was empty!
Halo was eagerly awaiting the arrival of Daddy!
The birthday princess eating her ice cream, and wearing it too!

Addison's first attempts at crawling

Sorry this is so dark, I'll have to try again now that her crawling is even better. This was her crawling for her frog, "Mister Frog". She wrestles with Mister a lot (wonder where she learned that from:))

Emory dancing at Mickey D's

I took Emory to McDonald's last week for lunch and they had fun music playing in the play area. She wanted to dance instead of eat (a reoccuring theme with her), so I had to capture the moment on video.

Trinity and Emory wrestling

As you saw in the previous video, Trinity wanted to be a part of the action. Once she realized I was recording her sisters she tried to steal their thunder by taking Emory down. They are pretty sill together! You can see Emory won't let Trinity win without a good fight...she actually had Trinity pinned for several seconds, so in a real wrestling match Emory would have been declared the champ! Trinity does take it easy on her little sister though, I don't think she gives it her all- thank goodness!

Addison dancing

Addison loves to dance to music. Her dancing (at 7 months old) is more of a head movement, but she always does it when music is on, so she really is moving to music. Try to not get distracted by her sisters wrestling match in the room. The next video is just of them! Never a dull moment in the Hinckley household!

Emory teaching Mommy ballet

So I think I've finally figured out how to get our videos onto this blog! You'll be sick of seeing them by the time I get my camera empty! Here's one of Emory's 'ballet lessons' she provides me on a regular basis:

What a day it was for our family! So we start the day out by celebrating Trinity's birthday with some presents and breakfast, then scurry around to get everything and everyone ready for school. We finally get out the door in the pouring rain and get the birthday girl to school, along with Sally (her new doll) and her cupcakes, napkins, etc. Trinity was so excited to get there and see all of her friends on her birthday! She gave her teacher a big hug and showed off her princess cupcakes and Barbie napkins and her new doll. Emory was eager to show off her stuff too, talking to anyone who even looked her way (a little envious of the attention)! We were looking forward to getting home to have a quiet day together, Emory, Addison and me! We enjoyed our time, playing babies, puppets, Barbies and games (she loves to play Memory or as she says, "Emory" and actually does extremely well!).

While eating lunch Emory spilled soup on her Cinderella dress up clothes, so I took that opportunity to start a load of laundry. She was in a silly mood from my focus of attention being on her and while I was putting the clothes in, so she slammed the door (our washer and dryer are in the garage), and slammed it so hard the door locked itself! So here I am, locked in the garage (which is FULL to the rim with stuff for a garage sale) with Emory and Addison in the house all by themselves- that's a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old, locked in a house- alone! The dog, who takes really good care of the girls, was inside too but locked in her crate, so she was of no use. It was at this point when I realized that I never did get a key over to our neighbors' house for an emergency situation (I think this might constitute as an emergency). I try and try to talk Emory through unlocking the door, unsuccessfully! So I dig my way out of the garage and open the door, run across the street, hoping my neighbor was home and start calling Greg on any available number. While I was calling him I dug my way back into the garage and try again to talk Emory through unlocking the door. Just as my neighbor was suggesting I call the fire department to help my break into my house Emory unlocked the door! Holy smokes...that was one stressful morning! I think my first errand after taking the girls to school tomorrow will be to get another key made and take it to the neighbors house!

Trinity's class made her a birthday book today and it is wonderful! They each wrote a sentence about something she likes and drew a picture to go along with it. It is something I think she will treasure forever! Man, some of those kids can really draw! She was ready for bed by the time the day was drawing to a close. She had cupcakes at school, I took them to TCBY for a treat after school, then the restaurant gave her a chocolate cheesecake for desert after dinner! Talk about too much sugar in one day!

Addison had a pretty big day too. She is realizing her new found ability to crawl gives her free rain over the house! She has discovered the bathroom (where the cat food and liter box are), the dog's food and water bowls, all of the electrical cords...everything! Trinity and Emory are constantly having to help me keep an eye on her and seem to find her getting into stuff on a regular basis. It is so much more difficult to baby-proof with all this Barbie and Polly Pocket stuff all over the house!

Emory really misses Trinity on Mon, Wed and Fridays when Trinity is at school and Emory isn't. Today she asked me about every five minutes if it was time to go pick Trinity (pronounced either Trin-a-y or sissy) up from school. She had to take a nap in Trinity's bed and wanted to take Trinity's doll and blanket in the car with her, even though Emory has her own exactly like Trinity's. I think doing those things made her feel like Trinity was with her. Trinity thought is was really sweet though- thank goodness because it could have been disastrous!

I took several pictures today, I will try to post them tomorrow. For now I'm exhausted after keeping up with these crazy girls today! Thanks everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes for Trinity! She loved all the phone calls and cards! I try to make birthdays extra special, it's the one day a year that should be all about the honoree, and all of your assistance was greatly appreciated!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS!!!!!

I can't believe it's here, today is Trinity's 5th birthday!!!!! I can't believe it's already been five years since I first met my little princess, but I also can't believe she hasn't always been a part of my life!
Trinity, You have touched my heart in ways I didn't know possible! You are the person who made me a Mommy and that is special in ways words can not express. You are such an amazing little girl and show me each and every day how lucky I am to have YOU in my life! You are sweet, loving, supportive, generous, helpful, beautiful, kind, silly, fun, independent but still show me you need me, strong, incredibly intelligent, witty...I could go on for days! You are an incredible person and I hope you never change! You are my big girl, my oldest girl, but you will always be my baby...my little girl! Remember, Mommy and Daddy will always love you, no matter what!!!!! Our love for you will continue to grow with each and every day! I look forward to watching you grow into the incredible young lady I know you will become (just please take your time in getting there!!!).

Here are some pictures of Trinity from the past 5 years, starting when she was still in my tummy.

...and it's not even over yet!

What a weekend it's been! The best part is we still have another day! So, where to start...well the girls had a wonderful week at school. They were tired on Friday, but not exhausted. Greg got to pick Trinity up from school for the first time this year and she was so surprised and excited! He said she was out of control she was so excited! It wasn't too hot outside Friday night, so we had an early dinner, then went to the lake to throw rocks at the spillway. The girls always enjoy doing that and seem to bring home as many rocks as the throw! Saturday we woke up kind of early so Greg could take Trinity shopping for her big birthday present. She got a brand new bicycle! Apparently she wasn't too excited when he told her what they were getting, she was hoping it was a new Barbie or the costume for the new Barbie movie...oh well! She was excited to get it home and show it to me, but hasn't ridden it yet (two days later!).

Saturday evening we had the whole family over to celebrate Trinity's birthday and had a great time. Of course our A/C had to break just before they got here, so it quickly climbed to 85 degrees and we were going outside to cool down! Yuck! The homemade ice cream did seem to help a little. The girls loved playing with their family! Emory has been crying for everyone to come back over to play and Trinity has been talking about all the stuff her cousins played with and what they will play with next time they come over. Some of the things I really hope to remember from this celebration,
  • Trinity opened a gift from David, home made pickles (not just any home made pickles...they are incredible! I think they're even award winning!) and she came up to me and whispered to me with a huge grin on her face, "That really is a great gift Mommy, I love those."
  • Getting her first American Girl Doll. She doesn't have a name yet, but Trinity keeps coming back to Sally. This doll is now a member of our family and I'm expected to treat her that way (I'm afraid she will end up costing us almost as much as another daughter, but Trinity sure does love her!). This looks to be the beginning of a whole new chapter in our lives!
  • The broken A/C...of course it started working again not long after everyone left. That's what we get for trying to make the house cold before everyone came over.
  • Dad falling asleep in the front yard
  • Ali's drug-induced personality (I can't believe you were even able to make it, but so grateful you did! We're praying for a quick recovery!)
  • Matt's lame excuses for backing out of his niece's birthday! Work...hah!

What a fun time! I love family get-togethers! Thank you everyone for making Trinity's birthday so special and memorable!!!!!!!

Today has been a lazy day full of playing with new toys. Both Trinity and Emory took new toys to church with them and had a great time showing them off. We walked to the park this evening so Trinity rode her new scooter all the way there. She hasn't exactly mastered balance yet (she has her mom's grace), so I think it was more work to ride the scooter than it would have been to walk, but she still enjoyed it!
Here are a few pictures from her bday celebrations so far, of course we still have three to go. When will we stop spoiling her so much? I'm sure the answer is NEVER!
