Welcome to Panther City

In case you don't know the history of Fort Worth, it was nicknamed "Panther City" back in the day because, as the story goes, it was such a dead town you could see a panther roaming the streets downtown in the middle of the day. Well it's not exactly that dead these days, but we did find some interesting wildlife roaming our street this afternoon.

Yep, that's a buzzard, eating a squirrel...CRAZY! It was just around 1 o'clock this afternoon when Greg snapped this. Just after taking it a car drove down the street and the buzzard didn't flinch at all. NUTS!

btw...another bit of information about FW, my alma matter (Paschal HS) was the first HS in FW and it's mascot is the Panther b/c of this story and the nickname that came from it...PANTHER CITY.
