Emory's three year old stats

We had Emory's three year check-up today. It's only a month late...:)
height: 39" (85th percentile)
weight: 31 lbs 6 ozs (50th percentile)

Dr. said she's healthy as a horse, as always! She has been on the same percentiles for height and weight since she was six months old, so she's just growing right along! We were really surprised her height wasn't higher in the percentiles and her weight lower. She is solid as a rock with all lean muscle- she has six-pack abs...no kidding! She was wonderful at her check-up, no complaining (except for being cold when she was having to wait for the doc without her clothes on) and no tears. She's such a trooper!

She is so grow up already, you'd never believe she's only three if you carry on a conversation with her. She was talking to me about her baby and wanted me to change its clothes. We were in seperate rooms and I was trying to explain to her this baby's clothes don't come off, but she wasn't believing me. She came walking into the kitchen and said, "Excuse me Mommy, but I need to discuss this with you. See, right here the clothes velcro, that means they come off and you can wash them if they get dirty." I was so tickled by her grown up words and tone of voice, it made it extremely difficult for me to explain to her why the clothes really don't come off:(

I sure do love my little angel!

We've been busy

I know I haven't been very good about posting lately, but things have been a little hectic. Also, part of the reason I post is to get my pictures up and right now my connection to get the pictures on the computer is messed up. I will have a ton of pictures and videos to post once I get to the store to buy a new connector!

We had a great weekend this past weekend! We had a fun family dinner Friday night, followed by our weekly slumber party! I love the mornings after slumber parties because Trinity and Emory always sleep late! I actually got to sleep until about 7:30 and it was wonderful! On Saturday we had a lot of great family time. Greg had to work for a little while in the morning (he didn't get to be #2 by sitting around doing nothing), and after that he was all about playing with the girls! Trinity and Emory played so well together all day, they didn't even WANT to watch TV or a movie, I don't think that has EVER happened! They even ate lunch together, just the two of them! It was so great to see the two of them so happy together! Saturday night we went to the North Texas Basketball game with Greg's brother and his family. The girls had a great time eating dinner and playing with their cousin! They were all so silly together! We had a great time at the game, until the last two minutes of the fourth quarter when Emory started throwing up on the seat in front of us (thank goodness the whole row was empty) and Aiden's nose started bleeding! Crazy! They are both fine now! On Sunday Greg stayed home with the little two and Trinity and I got to go to church, jut the two of us. After scarffing down a quick lunch Trinity and I were off to a birthday party. She had a great time doing ballet with all her friends! Even the boys had special parts during the ballet party and really seemed to enjoy themselves! We had a wonderful weekend!

Yesterday with the temperatures near 80 degrees (hello, it's February!) I took the two little ones on a field trip to the zoo and we all had a great time! Addison was really excited about seeing all the animals and hearing their different sounds! She posed for quite a few pictures too. Emory was pretty funny, she was really scared of the gorillas, tigers, lions and the crocidiles and didn't really want to sit to watch any of the animals, just wanted to see them and keep moving. I think we were the first visitors in the zoo for the day so we had most of the exhibits to ourselves. Emory got to sit face-to-face with some of the monkeys, only a pain of glass seperating her from sitting in their laps! The penguins swam up to the glass to play with the girls and we got to watch them eat their breakfast. The little monkeys put on a great show for us and were vocal about being upset because we left. After picking Trinity up from school yesterday we went to the zoo and played for nearly two hours! Addison loved sitting in and playing in the sand and trying to climb the slides. I think I'm the only one who was worn out after all that fun, I slept really well last night!!!!!

Now, on a completely seperate note, Emory seems to be completely potty trained! She hasnt had any accidents at all since last Tuesday...that's a whole week! Of course she's having a hard time going #2 (which is why she got sick Saturday night), but she'll get there!

AND...Addison has taken two steps by herself! She is by no means a walker, and I'm not in any rush to get her there, but she is definitelly making great strides! She is talking up a storm too! She seriously talks NON-STOP! Of course we can't understand much of what she says, but she sure does have a lot of it to say! You can tell she's speaking in sentences and usually tell when the sentence is over and she's starting a new one. She is so much like Trinity with her language developement!

Trinity is reading really well! She is able to sound out almost any word put in-front of her!
We're so proud of all three of our girls and how well they're growing!

Oh, and HAPPY FAT TUESDAY!!!!!

Given a little props

and a great big thank you! Greg finished #2 in the entire Texas Republic for the month of January (at work)! Woo-hoo! Way to go!
Thanks for working so hard to provide for all us girls! We love you and appreciate all you do! You are the best husband and daddy we could ever ask for!

The littlest mommy

So here I am changing Addison's diaper (which is often a job needing two people) and Emory is standing at the foot of the changing table looking at Addison. Emory said, "Oh Mom, Addison's missing a sockie sock, she needs it on her footy foot her toesy wosies don't get coldy cold." Okay, I don't talk that way, so I'm not sure where she got it from! Then she finds the sock in Addison's bed and gives it to her and starts talking to her (in her sweetest voice), "Baby Girl, do you know where you put your socky sock? That's right, on your foot. Good job Baby Girl!" Then Addison starts squirming around a little so Emory picks her shoe up from her changing table, it was a soft sole shoe (Robeez if you're famaliar with all this stuff), sticks her hand inside and starts pretending it's a puppet! She started talking in a disguised voice and said, "well hello there little girl, my name is shoe. What's yours?" Addison got the biggest kick out of her big sister/little momma...and so did I (but you're not allowed to call me big momma or any variation of that).

We've always known Ems was a great mommy to her babies and she is so caring and loving this doesn't really surprise me at all! I just love the details of this specific story and wanted to share it and have her read it to her babies when she's a Mommy for real!

Wonderful weekend

On Friday I had the pleasure of meeting my dear hubby in San Antonio for a night of dining and celebrating with the folks from his office. (Their office kicked the rears of all the other offices across the country so it was a little treat for all of us). We spent Saturday morning walking around and eating on the River Walk before heading up to Fort Worth to celebrate my sister's birthday with everyone. The girls had a great time with my sis and parents while we were in San Antonio, getting spoiled of course! They had a shopping excursion to Target, got to play at the park, play on the computer, take bubble baths and get all made-up! Here are a few pictures of their fun

Celebrating Nini's birthday at dinner was greatly enjoyed by all! Thanks for including us in your celebrations! Hope this year is your best year ever!

Break through?!?!

I think Emory might have finally had the ah-ha moment and I couldn't be more excited or proud of her! She has finally figured out the concept of controlling when she does and does not go to the bathroom! She has not had an accident in over 24 hours!!!! I hate to count my eggs before they hatch, but seriously...this is huge! Keep postivie thoughts coming our way and we will hopefully keep this trend alive!

Addison's one year stats

I took Addison in for her one year check-up on Tuesday, here are her stats:

weight: 20 lbs 9 ozs (45th percentile)
length: 28" (15th percentile)
head: 18 1/2" (92nd percentile)

What's up with this? How in the world can we have a baby that's so short? Surely she'll grow drastically...right? Here are Trinity's and Emory's from one year for comparison:

Trinity
21 lbs 11 ozs (60%)
30 1/2" (90%)
head: 18 5/8" (95%)

Emory
20 lbs 15 ozs (48%)
29" (50%)
head: 18 1/2" (92%)

So it's established, our girls have large heads...it's because their brains are abnormally large on account of their incredible intelligence:)
Emory's three-year check up is in a couple of weeks, I'm eager to see how much she's changed in her stats!

The world's most amamzing photographer!

Thanks to some friends of ours from college we found the most amazing photographer in the world! The best part is she is local (Frisco) and affordable! She has made it so easy to capture our little girls as they are growing up! The only thing I'm not happy about is the fact we didn't find her sooner! She took Addison's first birthday pictures and they turned out INCREDIBLE! We would love for you to check them out! Simply go to www.clarinesmith.com click on "enter", click on "slideshows" at the bottom, scroll down the page and click on "Addison" and type the words, "one year". I know I'm a little biased, but seriously...they are pretty dang good!

Thanks Kelly and Jammi for introducing me to Terry!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NINI!

Sorry I don't have any fun pics or videos to upload, the computer has a serious attitude with me!)

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Okay, so I'm the worst mother on the planet! Addison's first birthday was over a week ago (the 16th) and I'm just now making a post for her. I feel awful! We have had a wonderful time celebrating her big day with her. Her birthday fell on a Wednesday which happens to be our busiest day of the week with both Trinity and Emory having dance, but we still fit in celebrations every chance we could. We all got up a little bit earlier than usual and enjoyed a decorated house and helped her open her gifts. She loved what she got! We got her a lion ride-on/push along and she plays with it non-stop! She especially loves it when her sisters push her through the house on it! We also got her a play phone, bath toys and a few other fun things. Her sisters have really enjoyed playing with her new toys too:) We had a special lunch of McDonald's and a special dinner at Mexicali where the birthday girl was quite delighted to much on her rice and beans! We came home for a birthday desert and her first birthday cake! She wasn't too sure what to think about it, but eventually got it all over herself!

Looking back on the past year is so amazing! I can't believe it's only been a year since our family was blessed with the addition of Addison Kennedy! She was so perfect and tiny at 7 pounds, 2 ounces and no one believed she was actually that big, she looked so tiny!

Within just a few days it was like we had never lived a moment without you! You were already growing and changing so much we couldn't believe it!

As the months passed you showed us you were a perfect baby and were becoming more and more curious about the world around you!

You have really developed your own personality and are showing it to us more and more every day! You are very tolerant of your big sisters and all their friends, allowing them to play with you and laugh with you. You love to be just like your big sisters! You are also very stern about knowing what you want and refusing to give up until you get your way! If someone puts their hand on you or anything of yours and you don't want it there you are sure to give them an earful until they remove it! You will not allow people to take advantage of you just because you are the youngest! You love to laugh, smile, talk, dance and snuggle! I have been asked several times if you ever stop smiling or if you ever fuss because you always have a smile to give someone when they need it! You love to put on a show if you know someone is watching and you love to meet new people. You are such a blessing to this family and we are all so grateful to have you! I love you baby girl!

We had the family over on Saturday to celebrate your birthday (even though Nini and Aunt Sheridan weren't able to join us) and we all had a great time! You loved the tamales courtesy of Gommy and the fruit-kabobs courtesy of Trinity and Daddy! I think you could have lived without the cake though. You thought the candle was so neat, you put the flame out with your fingers instead of by blowing it out- that was a little confusing for you! You really enjoyed opening your gifts with the assistance of Emory and loved playing with all your new toys! You seem to know how lucky you are to have the family you do!

My computer is acting up right now, so I'm not able to upload any pictures right now, but when I can there will be quite a few to share!

We hope you had a great first birthday and look forward to celebrating many, many more with you in the coming years! We do hope they take their time getting here though:)
