Beethoven?

So the other day I was in the kitchen getting dinner ready and I heard someone playing on Addison's little piano. I didn't really pay much attention to it, but assumed it was Trinity since I thought she was in the playroom. Suddenly I realized the tune being played sounded familiar so I looked around the corner and this is what I found:

Spring Break Pictures, Part 2

Okay, so I'm so attentive I've left this post here for like a week with only a title. Hello...where have I been? Here are the pictures...for real this time! These pictures are from Fossil Rim. The girls and I spent the day out there with my mom and sister.

Emory helping me drive

Addison loved sticking her head out the window!

At the half way point we enjoyed a picnic lunch and petting zoo

Addison was exhausted after no morning nap so Nini soaked up all the snuggles she could get

At the end of the journey we visited the Koi pond and had a blast feeding the fish! The Koi are all huddled together on the far side of the pond where we really couldn't get close enough to feed them, but we were able to stand on the pier thing and feed the naturally stocked fish and turtles; they were so fun to watch!!!

Thanks for the wonderful memories! Can't wait to get back next year!

Spring Break Pictures, part 1

I have finally taken the time to upload our Spring Break pictures to the computer and it appears my camera only made it out of the bag at two events, visiting Pappy and Fossil Rim. I have several pictures from each of these, so I'm going to break them up into two posts; this one will be from visiting Pappy.

A little dizzy

While we were visiting my dad at the hospital where he works we enjoyed some time on the playground. They have this thing that you either sit or stand on and it spins, really easily. The girls were having fun getting dizzy and we were having a blast laughing at them! I didn't get the best ones on video (I never do) but I did get a few of them, here they are:

Spring Break!!!!

We have had a wonderful week and have so much to write about, I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll try to go in order of our week, so I'll start with last Saturday:

Saturday:
Trinity had a soccer game and actually participated in half of the game! This is highly unusual for her. She wanted to play because several of her friends from school are playing on this team, but she still gets nervous being around the opposing team. She didn't actually make contact with the ball, but at least she chased it:) Emory also had her very first Daddy-Daughter soccer clinic and she really enjoyed it! She got to play all kinds of games with the other kids and even got to kick a ball at a Monster! Greg said she did pretty well!

Sunday:
We had the pleasure of joining in on a surprise party for one of Greg's best friends from High School. We had a great time catching up with a few of his friends and their families, we don't see them nearly enough!

Monday:
I took the girls to the mall! We actually had to run an errand there, so I thought it would be a fun way to spend the day, just us girls! We spent a good deal of time in Libby Lu, getting nails painted and glittered and looking around at all the neat stuff that sparkles or has High School Musical and Hannah Montana on it!

Tuesday:
We spent the day in Fort Worth. We started out by meeting my sister at our parents' house and enjoying a few minutes with her. We quickly moved on to visit my Great Aunt, Juanita. Last Saturday was Aunt 'nita's 101st birthday! Seriously...could you imagine being 101? She was doing so well, but couldn't hear A THING! The girls love spending time up there and they sang all kinds of songs for her. Even though she couldn't hear their voices she could tell they were singing and really enjoyed the entertainment and visitors. We don't get there nearly as often as we should or as I would like to, so what little time we get to spend with her is precious! After an all too brief visit with Aunt 'nita we headed to the Cook's Children's hospital to have lunch with my dad (he does computer stuff for there). They have a pretty decent food court and a fun play ground, not to mention a wonderful Pappy! He surprised us (literally) with stuffed animals for all the girls. We had a great time playing on the play ground with Pappy and got some great video. I'll make a post of just the pics from the week when I have a little more time. The girls spent the night in with my sister and parents while I headed back home to try to get a few things done (and enjoy some quiet).

Wednesday:
I met the girls, my mom and sister and my parents house (really, really early) and we drove out to Fossil Rim, aka The Drive Through Zoo. We all went last year over spring break and the girls have been looking forward to going again all year. We had a great time slowly working our way through the trail and feeding the animals along the way. Our picnic lunch was cut a little short by the bumble bees, but that didn't stop us from having more fun at the petting zoo before continuing back on the trail. Thanks Mom and Nicci for a wonderful time! We look forward to going again next year! When you ask the girls what their favorite part was they both agree on the time the animal wanted to kiss Gommy! We didn't figure out what kind of animal it was, but it stuck it's head in her window, went straight for her mouth and tried to lick her...too funny! I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of it, or a video- that would have been hysterical!

Thursday:
We were planning on getting a couple of errands run first thing in the morning before enjoying a quiet and relaxing day at home. All of that was squashed with Addison woke up with tummy issues. She threw up several times in the first part of the day before the bug worked its way down to her intestines. We thought it had past when the last time she got sick was yesterday when she woke up in the morning, apparently she was saving it up for our drive to Fort Worth this morning, but we'll get to that later. I changed her sheets at least four times on Thursday...ugh! We ended up spending Thursday at home, just chillin' and enjoying each other's company (and trying to catch up on some sleep). Once Greg got home we took the girls to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Friday:
Addison woke up with dirty sheets again, but this time it wasn't throw up. I ended up changing her sheet three times on Friday- seriously?!?! We did get to Super Target (our favorite store) to get some of our errands run and spent a good part of the morning there, all of us having a great time! I am training the girls in the art of "window shopping". The weather was incredible on Friday, so we spent a good part of the rest of the day outside, freeing the back yard of "gifts" from the dog. After the girls had naps I hid Easter Eggs so they could have a practice hunt for Easter. They had a great time! This was Addison's first egg hunt and she did really well! When Daddy got home we all went to dinner together and enjoyed a wonderful evening outside playing in the evening air as Greg was starting to get Addison's stomach issue.

Saturday:
The day started off slow with all of us sleeping until at least 7:30 (I was in HEAVEN!). Greg stayed in bed for a while, still not feeling well, then moved to the sofa, still not feeling well, only to return to bed...still not feeling well! He did get some rest and started feeling a little better by the end of the day. I woke Addison up a little after 8, only to find another soiled sheet awaiting my changing. She hasn't seemed to feel poorly, so I can honestly say I really, really am getting tired of changing sheets! We had a quiet morning at home and I got some shopping done without any assistance during naps! After everyone woke up we took Addison to Greg's mom's house and took the other two to a movie! We had a great time and really enjoyed the movie. We saw Enchanted, I know it's been out for a long time and actually on video this week, but we hadn't gotten to see it yet and it was at the dollar theatre. It was a great movie for all ages, very well done!

Today:
After attending Sunday School at our church we headed over to my parents' church for their spring carnival. We had so much fun! Taco bar, three bounce houses, face painting, Easter tattoos, three pinatas, kite making, arts and crafts, Popsicles, sliding down the hill and an Easter egg hunt...what more could a family ask for ?!?! Well done! We are all really worn out now and Trinity has started complaining of a stomach ache...ugh! Oh, that reminds me, I haven't finished the story of Addison's stomach problem returning today. Well, she hadn't had any problems since I woke her up yesterday morning so I didn't see any problem at all with taking her to church today and letting her be around other babies and children. We were almost to my parents church when Trinity started saying she smelt throw-up, then she'd say she smelt poo-poo, then it was throw up, then it was poo-poo...we kept telling her it was her imagination and we'd be there soon, so stop complaining. Well we get to the church and I pull Addison out of the car, only to be hit by a wall of really bad stench! I looked down and not only was it in her seat, but it was all over her clothes, dripping down her legs and was on me too! Ugh! I attempted to change her and clean her up (I don't keep a change of clothes for her anymore) before seeing everyone, and that was quite a challenge!
*******************************************************************************
So that's where I left off Sunday evening...everything got even more crazy while I was still writing! I heard a scream of "MOMMY" coming from the other end of the house and by the time I get to Trinity she said, "I think I'm gonna throw up." She no more got the words out then started puking all over the place. Luckily I had taken a bowl to her already, so most of it was contained, but she was laying in our bed, so what wasn't contained was on our pillows cases, and me. We got that all cleaned up, changed the sheets and put her back in our bed. An hour later she started puking in her sleep...all over our bed! We got her cleaned up and put her on the floor to sleep, and changed the sheets...again! She quickly fell asleep and slept all the way till Monday morning when she woke up just fine! I'm so glad she's better! Hopefully I won't be changing any "dirty" sheets again for a while! Of course Greg felt horrible again this morning, but went to work anyway hoping he would get over it quickly.

So there's our not-so-brief spring break! Hope you enjoyed your week too!

Kindergarten Career day

Today Trinity's class had Career Day and they all were to dress up as the career they want to pursue as they grow up (no superheros or princesses). Trinity has been telling me for weeks she wanted to be a Dance Teacher, just like Miss Bessie when she grows up, so yesterday I got her a long sleeved leotard since the forecast didn't look too favorable for any of her sleeveless versions and went ahead and bought a new pair of tights to go along with it. I was all set to get her ready as a dance teacher for today. Last night when I was showing her the purchases and discussing our schedule for this morning she got really upset and said she had changed her mind, "I don't want to be a dance teacher anymore, I want to be a ROCK STAR!" So here I am, seven o'clock in the evening and terrible weather outside and faced with the prospect of a disastrous morning since she would not be able to dress the way she wanted to for school...great! I start throwing out ideas and suggestions and trying to make the dance teacher thing her idea again so she would go along with it...then suddenly I had a light bulb moment! I suggested she dress in the "dance teacher" clothes and be a rock star practicing for her concert! Whew...she loved it! We got her dressed, only she added a black skirt to the pink leotard and tights and we did her hair all funky and added some crazy glitter to her face. Here are the results:
My little Rock Star!!!

I couldn't resist this picture while I was driving (in the snow), she looked like a star w/ total attitude sitting there being chauffeured around town.

Trinity and her friend, Dr. Peyton

There were some great careers in her class! There was a Dallas Maverick, Dallas Star, three doctors, Fashion designer, baker, Cost Guard, Astronaut, and there were still some kids not there yet.

As soon as we got home Emory started begging for me to make her a Rock Star too. I had a little more time to give her and much more thin hair, so here is the result of that make-over:

She LOVES it!

Snow...seriously?

So here's a very brief synopsis of the recent weather:

Sun March 2nd: 70 degrees
Mon March 3rd: 30's for high and snow
Tues March 4th: 50's and sunny
Wed March 5th: 70 and sunny
Thur March 6th: 34 for high and rain, rain and more rain...at least 2" during the day
then, overnight it finally turned into the snow they'd been telling us we would get all day! Just 30 minutes north of here they got like 9" of snow! We only got 1 if even that much. Regardless of how much it was the girls were so excited to wake up to it and play in it this morning. Of course by 9:30 the sun and warm temps had melted every last flake around!

Here are some pictures from EARLY this morning of the girls and their daddy playing in the snow...before school and work and after breakfast, dressing and playing Webkinz.
Addison was a little confused as to what was all over the place, I don't think she'd ever seen snow before.
Greg attempting to build a snowman

Trinity and their itty bitty masterpiece!

Emory and their itty bitty masterpiece

I had to take this one myself, the rest of the family was too busy playing in the snow

Addison did not want to come inside, it took some encouraging to trade the cold, white stuff for the warm house

It looks like this might have been the last snow of the season, so we will look forward to another game of "oh yeah" next year! Thanks Mother Nature for the entertainment!

My new photographers

Last night Trinity and Emory "borrowed" my camera to take some pictures. Here are a few of the 100's they took. Thank goodness for digital cameras!
Here are a few of Trinity's shots:
Emory's and Halo's feet
Emory's olive fingers

And a few of Emory's:

Walking AND reading?!?!

While hunkered down in the warmth of our home we managed to record some pretty monumental times in Addison's life. I actually got her to focus on her favorite book WHILE the camera was out. She LOVES this book, Baby Faces and usually is much more excited than she is in this video. Just after reading she decided she was going to start walking, so I got a few of the steps on video!

Just after this video she kept playing the walk to each other game and both of her sisters joined in, the game last at least 15 minutes! Then, only ten minutes later she walked all the way from her changing table, through her room and all the way down the hall, half way through the living room! That's got to be at least 25 feet! She walking all over the place tonight! Holy cow!!!!!
